Drunken Weasel is a new mixed team, dancing in the energetic, and wild tradition known as Border Morris. Inspired by such British sides as Boggart's Breakfast and Hunter's Moon, we hope to bring this excitement to Tidewater Virginia with exuberance and flair. |

What is Border Morris? |
|
Border Morris, as it has come to be known, Is the style of English Morris Dance as it developed along the border with Wales in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Border Morris is known for it's exuberance, energetic though simple stepping, and by a more chaotic and rowdy nature. It uses the clashing of sticks, rather than relying on hankie waving. Many border dance sides will be noted for wearing the "rag coat", a coat or tunic covered in rags or ribbons, and by their blackened faces. For further information please see here. |
